About Us

We are a local business ran by 2 local people. We purchased "The Fruit Shop" on December 4th 2006. And have implemented a few important changes.

We strongly believe in trying to do our bit for the environment so the first thing to change was the amount of waste the shop produced. 100% of our cardboard is taken to a recycling plant in Cramlington this has reduced our waste to 1 small bin a week.

We then needed to combat the use of carrier bags. We take in carrier bags from customers from non smoking house holds and NEVER buy them. This works extremly well and is important for both ourselves and our customers in the fight to save our planet.

Although in an ideal world we would like to only sell local produce it is just not possible but as much as we can we source and sell local and this is always well situated and well recieved by our customers.

We are currently phasing out the plastic bags that are used to put the produce in and replacing them with paper bags.
